11 About

I am Trisha D, and have a lovely boyfriend who may appear every so often. We live in a tiny town in Wisconsin. My intentions of this blog are to journal our experiences while we remodel our "seen-better day’s" home. It's over 100 years old, and hasn't been updated since probably the 70's! I love taking ugly unique finds and make them charming without spending a lot of cash.  On occasion, I’ll throw in some life stuff and tidbits on my other passion: photography- another site is in the works.

When I set my mind and heart to something, there tends to be this unexplainable passion and drive for them. This blog just happens to be one of them. Although there is this perfectionist side of me that always wants to make this or that sentence/picture just a little better- it’s a balancing act I still have yet to figure out. I love to be random, unique, and bring in my growing sense of humor (or lack thereof) to the table. I also have this ongoing- No regrets list which gives you a peak at things I want to do in my life.

The beginnings...
I started this blog with good intentions in February of 2011 and couldn’t seem to fathom the amount of time and energy into building what I wanted it to be. Admittedly, back then I really fell in love with my idols blog and wanted to be ‘just like them when I grew up.’ Boy am I glad I waited because who likes a copy cat?

So one day I up and decided to leave my day job to pursue my dreams. This blog, my creative throne.

I’d love to know more about you so we can become fast friends. I encourage you to email me at bandwobsession [at] gmail.com or leave some comments. I HEART comments!

Thank you for stopping by, and have a super-fantabulous day!

  1. You're gorgeous! Best of luck on all of your adventures!!! Can't wait to read more :)

  2. Why thank you lovely Christina, you are beautiful yourself.

  3. I can relate to how you feel about blogging! I started one last year and I just don't think it was the right topic for me... Sometimes I think it's worth taking some time away- when you get back at it, it can be so much better! (And oh ya, their my idols too haha)

    1. I think about a year between (working full time in the mix) really made me more inspired.

I'm sure someday it could work for you if that's what you want.

The best idols to have huh?

      Thanks for stopping by, Lauren!

  4. Hi Trisha :)So nice to meet you at Haven!! It will be fun to see what you do with your blog :) xo Kristin

    1. Hey Kristin, thanks for stopping by!! Wasn't Haven THE BEST?! I'm still coming off the high from the longest but best weekend I've had in a long time!

  5. Hey trisha,
I just wanted to say thank you.
Your about me page is phenomenaly well written, and it strikes a lot of things within me that are very similar.
Thank you for posting a comment on my blog.
Its a little thing, but It kind of reminded me "oh yeah... I have a blog.... people may want to read that"
Instead of giving up on it per se.
So thank you for being who you are. 'Cause It inspired me to start being more who I am. :)

    1. Oh my goodness, your comment has me all misty-eyed. How sweet of you to say such lovely things.

This page is actually getting a bit of a makeover (one of these days ha!), complete with at least one shot of me and my ginormous puppy (aka partner in crime)!

Your last sentence really sits well with me as it seems so easy to slip into following trends but continuing to be happy with who we are no matter what is really all that matters.

I can't wait to see what else you have up your creative sleeves. So happy to have you join us on #thriftscorethursday!!

  6. I have to feed my spawn, but I wanted to get in contact with you, please! austinlowens@gmail.com (Austie Bost Fonts)

  7. I'm so jealous of your 100+ years-old home! I dream of selling my home and outright buying a vintage trailer (but as roomy as I can get; I can't really downsize too much!) to fix up. People look at me like I'm crazy when I say that. But I would love having the mortgage money every month to go towards travel and other things I can't really do right now. I'm in a tiny town, too! I love tiny towns - luckily mine is literally minutes from a bigger city, but that won't be the case if I move back home to be closer to family.

I'm also uber jealous of your creativity and drive. Here lately I get about as far as shopping, buying stuff, getting it home, and letting it collect dust. I'm about to drag out a bunch of things I no longer use in the hopes that I can list them somewhere. Seeing everything again after a few years will be like shopping !

    1. Oh no need to be jealous ha, its been 2 years and we're sloooowly working on updating the house. We decided last summer to snag a vintage trailer and have also been working on completely overhauling that guy (one of these days I'll get to posting about it).

Ahh tiny towns are simply the best!

The blog is just a disguise, I have unfinished projects strewn all over the place and a storage unit ready to explode. One of these days I'm going to have an 'estate sale.' Maybe. But then again it feels good to shop your own stuff that you forgot about... ha
