6 #thriftscorethursday Things I Didn’t Buy Take 4

Welcome friends!! Thank you all for the kind words and support last week for our fun 100th post extravaganza. We announced the winner so head over to instagram to see if you won!

#thriftscorethursday Week 101 | Trisha from Black and White Obsession, Brynne's from The Gathered Home, Cassie from Primitive and Proper, and Corinna from A Designer At Home

If you're new 'round here, my co-hosts Brynne from The Gathered Home, Cassie from Primitive and Proper, and Corinna from A Designer At Home and I, invite you to play along with our fun hashtag party on Instagram. The rules are simple: snap a pic of your thrifted treasure and throw the #thriftscorethursday hashtag so our hosts, followers, and amazing TST community can marvel at your goodies.

Let’s kick this party off with my find.

Last weekend I found this wicked cool Mid Century Estate sale way out in the boonies. It was a friend of mine's first time ever going to an estate sale, which is truly an honor for me.

This particular sale had tons of games from the 60’s, vintage toys, fun colorful vintage clothing (the kind kids-dress-up dreams are made of), etc. Of the vintage items I bought a game-- the ever so hard to find Royal Rummy game, for those who are curious. My virgin friend actually spotted it before I did- how they grow up so fast?!

Anyway I had my eye on these two beauties. but had to #catchandrelease:

The first piece was a Copper Cake Carrier. I just can't get over that cute little oven graphic.

As you've noticed in the recent past, copper has been a ridiculous obsession so it was incredibly difficult for me to walk away from this copper-goodness. I talked myself out of it because it was out of my price range and a bit too large for to try and stash it in the take-me-out-once-a-year-pile.

The second was this fun vintage Burroughs Adding Machine. Again not entirely practical but still fun nevertheless.

And now for the dreamy features from our #thriftscorethursday Instagram crowd:

I've been fantasizing over this Kate Spade Downing desk since it first arrived on the scene. There were some serious heart palpitations occurring when I first laid eyes on it.

Nicole elegantly converted her free metal desk into quite the stunning Kate Spade knock off. I really like how she added some glam legs and even a surprise color in that drawer. Stop by her blog to see how she DIY'ed her way into saving a couple grand.

Next:

First of all, doesn't it seem like Maggie would have to contort herself like a cirque du soleil performer just to capture this shot?

Second: Can I also profess my love of everything about the shot? The rug, the position of the chair, the colors, and fabric chosen for the chair, down to a peek of the desk and perfectly posed gold pen. Is it a bad thing that I kind of want to frame this photo and put it in my office?

And finally I love how Maggie used inspiration from willscasa and made it her own with the bold graphic on the seat and white feet.

Not only is this church charm adorable but it's also has a fun feature called a "Stanhope." At first I was like stan-a-whaa? According to the interwebs (and Jenn's informative caption), that little glass piece is used to reveal a little hidden photo/caption when you peer into it. These little pieces are still in production and can be customized with a photo or special saying. Jenn explained that this one as a little prayer when you look into the glass piece. Bravo Jenn for always teaching me something new!!

  3. that cake carrier is adorable! But, you know, I have a nice vintage cake carrier thing, and I love it, but it's HUGE and I don't use it that often.
