If you're new 'round here, my co-hosts Brynne from The Gathered Home, Cassie from Primitive and Proper, and Corinna from A Designer At Home and I, invite you to play along with our fun hashtag party on Instagram. The rules are simple: snap a pic of your thrifted treasure and throw the #thriftscorethursday hashtag so our hosts, followers, and amazing TST community can marvel at your goodies.
Occasionally, we're blessed to have a few of our favorite hashtag blogger friends guest hosting alongside us. This week, please welcome Maggie back from Maggie Overby Studios!
This week I bring you two #catchandrelease thifted finds:
How fun is this Cheers Marquee? Goodwill listed it at $3.99, I'm sure the DIY one's couldn't beat this price (but have nothing on the custom look).
I'm pretty sure it hailed from Target from their castaway clearance rack. The Marquee was onpoint using a fun word and the size wasn't ridiculously bulky (I'd say it was about a foot long). However, I really couldn't get over those few red bulbs, they're really not my cup of tea. The nail in the coffin was that I really couldn't think of a place that it play nicely.
Back to the shelf it went.
My apologies for the small photo:
This marquee, was one that I actually considered. 1) it's black and white (DUH!) 2) I could add a funky capital "B" an oversized "W" and an odd-ball O to create a blog sign. However, this idea didn't formulate immediately at the store, it took some stewing; by the time I figured it out, it was Justin Timberlake "dead and gone."
And now for the fabulous features from our #thriftscorethursday Instagram crowd:
Nicole out-did herself turning this geo wire basket into a scrumptious side table with a little paint and a thrifted table top.
Erin found these lucite-esque pegs and left them behind without a project in mind. I admire her restraint as they would have magically migrated into my cart without care. An actual use for them would come to me, eventually.
What would you do with these lucite beauties?
And last but certainly not least... remember last week when I showed you my Copper Cookware set?! Well Jen goes and posts a series of photos as I’m preparing my post for today. Earning the #ThriftQueen title of the week:
Ok Jen totally Trumped me:
Queue super Fan-Girl over here!!
And my favorite one of all…
What an absolutely dreamy tea kettle, and that blue and white glass handle-- to-die-for, no?!
Well that’s all for week 96, my dearies! We thoroughly enjoy scrolling through your entries every week and hope to see your thrifted treasures. It’s pretty easy to play along:
- Snap a photo of your thrifted finds.
- Share said photo with the hashtag #thriftscorethursday on Instagram any day of the week!
- Tag some friends to play along!

i loved those lucite pegs, too, and nicole's table is brilliant!
ReplyDeleteI could use the Cheers Marquee in our basement bar!
ReplyDeleteThose marquee lights are so fun! I'll admit, I'm kind of in love with the ampersand one! That happens to me a lot though - I don't think of the perfect use until I get home and then it's not there any more. Oh well - that just leaves more room in your budget and your place for the next fabulous find!
ReplyDeleteI would have totally bought the cheers sign for $3.99!! and put it in our shed near my disco ball!!
ReplyDeleteAll amazing finds, as always....but I absolutely love EVERYTHING about the top photo!
