16 #thriftscorethursday Halloween Edition 2

Welcome friends! In case you missed the Halloween announcement last week by my fellow co-hosts, we're inviting you to share your ThriftSCAREthursday treasures (simply tag #thriftscorethursday to those photos!). You're in for a treat today!

#thriftscorethursday Week 87 | Trisha from Black and White Obsession, Brynne's from The Gathered Home, Cassie from Primitive and Proper, Corinna from A Designer At Home, and Guest Poster: Colleen from 58 Water Street

This week we're kicking off some inspiration for you gys after sifting through our thrift scores this year to share fun/spooky/quirky/interesting costume and decor inspirations. We've also invited a bunch (SIX to be exact!) of our past hosts to join in and share their thriftiest Halloween Concoctions (you can check them all out at the bottom of this post!).

Last year BrynneCassie, and I, had a blast sharing fun and creative thrifted costumes (you can peek at those here and here). I may or may not have tried to squeeze in a kids sized costume and/or channeled my inner OITNB characters.

This year I've decided to go with one part of the Adams Family theme song: "They're creepy and they're kooky, Mysterious and spooky, They're all together ooky, The Addams Family." Any guesses?

Heart the photo.

If you guessed kooky, you would be right my friend. This guy, well I'm not sure what it is. I think its a mummy bucket with white fringe hair, a spring and oddball feet. Perhaps you're supposed to put treats in the bucket?

I was actually on the hunt for some creepy or could be creepy art work or some pieces to dress up and add some removable masks to. But when you've thrifted long enough, you know that these kind of things don't really drop in your lap. And sometimes you find something even better.

Like this Miss Mary Ann and the Ragtime Wranglers, Mad Mama poster. At first I thought it was random artwork one would really put up during Halloween- with the dressed up devil and all, but then after a quick google search 1) This poster is for a legit band 2) they're even on youtube 3) they're from the Netherlands and travel world wide.

>>> Warning: Clowns (of the cute-ish variety) AHEAD <<<

Just in case you are terrified of them... close your eyes and scroll ahead.

When I was a young kid, my mom decked my bedroom with clowns. They were all of the happy kind. Every where you looked there were clowns. I think I even packed up and brought some of my favorites to show-n-tell one year. This was before anyone in my class watched horror movies of course.

As my collection grew as a child, it made me more aware of where to find those happy faces- parades, circus, carnivals, etc. They were (and still kind of are, to me) so innocent with those big red rainbow colored wigs and big floppy shoes handing out the coolest balloon animals. Darn those scary movies for ruining it for some people!

This week our hosts are sharing normal super rad features, but next week it's game on for those clever thrifted Halloween (all or in part) costumers or decor items. The more outrageous, spooky, pun-tastic or even kooky the better!!

To say that I'm not ridiculously jealous right now, would be a big fat lie. I mean really, isn’t this chair what Herman Miller Chair dreams are made of?! I'm pretty sure the style and bold color would be a perfect desk chair in my office, without being too matchy.

Update: I’m sure the suspense was killing no one, but I was able to snag the white, wheels version of this chair for my birthday, which was on my Craigslist Wishlist a few months ago. Wish me luck on finding one near me ok?

Oh and before we move to the next featurem, I'm pretty sure you want to check out Schuyler & Casey’s beautiful Insta feed and their Etsy store where they sell many of the pieces they've collected over the years.

Next on the jealousy train (perhaps our shades of green deserve our own reality show by now?), is this fine moody blue tufted sofa screaming everyone's name. And the best part? It hails from an office that used it for large prints, as in very few tushies with buttons and killer snaps had a chance to ruin it.

PS. don't you just adore the subtle cross large scale print as well?

I have professed my love of typewriters (and own a few of my own) many of times, to which I'm quite positive it has reached the obsession level. Luckily there haven't been many at my thrift stores lately, so I've been able to live vicariously through the #thriftscorethursday feed. Talk about lucky: Kristan was able to score not one but TWO Underwood typewriters at the very last flee market of the year. So excited that the thrifting gods were on her side. Bravo, Kristan, bravo.

Can we also take a second and gawk over that gold faceted coffee table for a second too?!

Well that’s all for week 87, my friends!! Don't forget to snap a shot of all those scary Halloween thrift scores and add the #thriftscorethursday tag! Next week, we'll be sharing our favorites and I may be back with a few more Halloween related finds!

**In case you're wondering about the non-Halloween finds: Feel free to continue sharing any and all lucky scores, we love them just the same!
