7 #thriftscorethursday Fabric Stash

Hello #thriftscorethursday friends! I hope you have been killing it this week so far!

Did you catch the #swapitlikeitshot thrifted makeovers this year? It started on Monday and a couple of your weekly Thrift Score Thursday hosts have made their own appearances this year. You can see what I sent a fellow thrifter Windgate Lane, the stash I got from I Am a Home Maker, and the makeover right here. Yes you read that right, I actually made over some thrited finds and I finally have a non-Thrift Score Thursday post out there (well it still involves plenty of thrifting though!!)! Nothing like a yearly challenge to light a fire under my tush!

But before I loose you in the miles and miles of inspiration and makeovers, let’s hangout and talk about this week’s TST finds…

#thriftscorethursday Week 84 | Trisha from Black and White Obsession, Brynne's from The Gathered Home, Cassie from Primitive and Proper, Corinna from A Designer At Home, and Guest Poster: Ashley from Bigger Than the Three Of Us

If you're new 'round here, my co-hosts Brynne from The Gathered Home, Cassie from Primitive and Proper, and Corinna from A Designer At Home and I, invite you to play along with our fun hashtag party on Instagram. The rules are simple: snap a pic of your thrifted treasure and throw the #thriftscorethursday hashtag so our hosts, followers, and amazing TST community can marvel at your goodies.

Occasionally, we're blessed to have a few of our favorite hashtag blogger friends guest hosting alongside us. This week, please give a warm welcome to Ashley from Bigger Than the Three Of Us! I don't know about you but I cannot get enough of her transformations and her killer thrifted finds.

My Finds

Over the course of #thriftscorethursday, you may have noticed that I’ve talked about snagging sewing/crafting stuff while at estate sales. But haven’t followed through with actually sharing those hauls, until now:

Not only are fabric stashes typically a super bargain price, but they’re also a great way to stock up on scrap fabric (can you really have too much ‘test fabric’?!), fabric for smaller scale projects, or even fat quarters for quilting. Well this fabric stash definitely falls in all of those categories.

While at the end of my friend’s families estate sale (also where I snagged the umbrella stand from last week ), I also raided a bin full of a bunch of fabric. I sifted it down to a sizeable haul which included a decent roll of white felt, various pieces of plain colored scrap, a bunch of white pieces (really can one really EVER have enough WHITE?!), a couple polka-dotted pieces, a decent box of buttons, a range of elastic in various sizes, a few doilies, ribbon and my favorite, that bold, blue, orange, red fabric in the lower left. It’s sort of stretchy and there’s probably a good 2-3 yards in that set. I’m not entirely sure where it will end up yet but I’m in LOVE!!

There was also some fusible webbing, liner-style white fabrics, and random odds and ends but they didn’t fold nice enough for the camera.

And like I said last week, a friend of mine said I was free to rummage through all the leftovers from their estate sale and take anything I wanted off their hands so they didn’t have to haul it to the thrift store. I guess that’s what happens when your friends know one of your passions in life is thrifted, free, and re-purposing. In other words, another set of freebies from friends who want to get rid of crap.

And now for the dreamy features from our #thriftscorethursday Instagram crowd:

Such a lucky find! I'm pretty sure bike rides on vacation cost more than the $40 @louloumint_etsy spent on hers!

Emily scored really big on the last day of an estate sale (here's to hoping it was a steep mark-down day)! Don't you just picture this Mid-Century beauty in an office next to a fully stocked bar cart?! #inmydreams

How about this darling vintage brownie camera? Y'all know I'm infatuated with most vintage cameras (my small but growing collection can be found here and http://www.blackandwhiteobsession.com/2014/08/thriftscorethursday-vintage-polariod-cameras.html along with a drool-worthy collection here), but have yet to get one of my favorite styles- Brownie.

Well that’s all for week 84, my dearies! We thoroughly enjoy scrolling through your entries every week and hope to see your thrifted treasures. It’s pretty easy to play along:
  1. Snap a photo of something that catches your eye or you decided to splurge on from anyplace secondhand (Craigslist, Thrift Stores, Auctions, Garage Sales, etc).
  2. Share your photo with the hashtag #thriftscorethursday on Instagram (if your profile is public) and/or Twitter, any day of the week!
*You could be featured next Thursday as your hosts Brynne, Cassie, Corinna, and I (+a Fun and Fabulous guest host) dish out our favorite scores every week.

Do you ever eye up the craft/sewing section at estate sales? Have you ever scored a bunch of good deals?
