14 #thriftscorethursday Light Bulb Jars

You guys really know how to rock those thrift store purchases! I was on vacation last week (which is why I bowed out of hosting duties last week) and happened to have extra time to marvel over all those goodies. To say I'm green with envy is a complete understatement.

I was also giddy have some time set aside to visit some of my fav SoCal thrift stores while on vacation. Of course it was incredibly difficult walking away from things I couldn't fit in the suitcase like this fantastic pair of Mid-Century chairs. You can see the other #catchandrelease find here. There's still a few left to share, but I have to dig through the SD card for those.

Anyway, on with the show:
#thriftscorethursday Week 56 | Trisha from Black and White Obsession, Brynne's from The Gathered Home, Cassie from Primitive and Proper, Corinna from For My Love Of, and Guest Poster: Thalita from The Learner Observer

If you're new 'round here, my co-hosts Brynne from The Gathered Home, Cassie from Primitive and Proper, and Corinna from For My Love Of and I, invite you to play along with our fun hashtag party on Instagram. Occasionally, we're blessed to have a few of our favorite hashtag blogger friends guest hosting alongside us. This week, please give a warm welcome to Thalita from The Learner Observer! She has this wonderfully DIY'ed woven footstool you should totally check out.

The rules are simple: snap a pic of your thrifted treasure and throw the #thriftscorethursday hashtag so our hosts, followers, and amazing TST community can marvel at your goodies. You don't even have to wait until Thursday to hashtag those finds!
Let’s kick this party off with my find:

I'm pretty sure the original owners of these cute Light Bulb Jars snatched them up from Hobby Lobby for a couple bucks (they can be found here), but it didn't stop me from doing the happy dance when I snagged them for less than retail (10 cents each, SCORE!).

I have yet to style them in our home as I can't quite make up my mind on what to do with them. Perhaps they'll sport a faux mini-terrarium like this or maybe some water based plants like this or some other direction entirely. Decisions, decisions.

And now for the dreamy features from our #thriftscorethursday Instagram crowd:

Steph spotted this Victorian Chair for around $200. I would have walked away too, but in all reality isn't an absolutely awful price considering the glorious condition it's in.

I mean let's be real, it probably doesn't fit anyone's decor but the Queen of England's but we can all still swoon over it, no?

And another wonderfully magical chair from Steph. If this beauty were mine (you know in my glorious gigantic walk in closet) it would be called "Spade" for that shape.

If we could all only have half the luck Steph has finding chairs... or any other killer finds (seriously get over to Instagram and check our her ridiculous finds!).

I realize the Hobart Meat Slicer is an odd feature (I'm usually all about the furniture and decor), but if the price was right and we all had a Martha Stewart size kitchen the convenience alone would be out of this world! Although I wouldn't be using it to slice big hunks of meat- rather to thinly slice some cheese... yumm! Oh and the same day she scored a vintage Hobart Scale, check it out here!

Well that’s all for week 56, my dearies! We thoroughly enjoy scrolling through your entries every week and hope to see your thrifted treasures. It’s pretty easy to play along:
  1. Snap a photo of something that catches your eye or you decided to splurge on from anyplace secondhand (Craigslist, Thrift Stores, Auctions, Garage Sales, etc).
  2. Share your photo with the hashtag #thriftscorethursday on Instagram (if your profile is public) and/or Twitter, any day of the week!
*You could be featured next Thursday as your hosts Brynne, Cassie, Corinna, and I (+a surprise guest host) dish out our favorite scores every week.

Do you find yourself hoarding those thrifted treasures without a real plan in mind? What have you spotted recently? Any Catch and Releases?

  4. Those little lightbulb jars are so cute! I could see them with an bitty miniature landscape inside - using those teeny railroad model pieces from a craft store maybe? That's it - I'm off to go find some one my own! :)
