14 #thriftscorethursday Clothes

Howdy friends! Hope you've been having a rockin' week so far! Today my co-hosts and I here to ease your Thursday woes, with another dose of #thriftscorethursday.

#thriftscorethursday Week 53 | Trisha from Black and White Obsession, Brynne's from The Gathered Home, Cassie from Primitive and Proper, and Corinna from For My Love Of

If you're new 'round here, Brynne from The Gathered Home, Cassie from Primitive and Proper, and Corinna from For My Love Of, invite you to heart your favorite pieces, mingle with our schmancy hashtag crew, and occasionally add to our incredible the incredible list of finds over on Instagram.

The rules are simple: snap a pic of your thrifted treasure and throw the #thriftscorethursday hashtag so our hosts, followers, and wonderful TST community can marvel at your goodies.
Let's begin with the features:

I have no idea how one simply stumbles across not just one triangular shelf, but a whole Army of them?! Let's just say Anna is my hero.

These sweet little Nesting Dolls remind me so much of this tattoo set I've been dreaming of since forever.

Psst, since before pinterest folks. Yeah I manually downloaded that image and is forever lost in some folder somewhere. Sure the ink isn't overly original but it doesn't stop me from trying to convince my sisters to take the plunge.

Hot dang, Jenn is the queen. I mean who could ask for a more perfect set of salt and pepper shakers?!

Let's close this baby off with my finds... this killer stack of thrifted clothing. 18 pieces of clothing to be exact. All for $42.75. I've spent A LOT more on ONE PAIR of pants.

Today's score goes hand in hand with Monday's Update. You see, I'm usually a head-straight-to-the-home-goods kinda thrifter but this time I was on a mission. As most of my attention was focused on the puppies, I some how skimmed over the fact that I had exactly two pairs of "business casual" slacks to last me during that first week. For some dumb reason, I had this genius idea to donate a bunch of my old digs during a clutter fit er "closet cleanse" sometime in the spring of 2014.

Thank goodness for this unwritten rule about never parting with dresses. But that was NOT going to last me one week in these bitter-cold Wisconsin Decembers. Let's be real here, this mini-shopping spree was avoiding the fact that I would actually have to tackle that ginormous mound of laundry.

So the mission was to track down pants. Girls, you know the burden of finding the perfect fit. To the two guys who actually read this thing... let me break it down for you: picture a gangly troll jenga-stacking any and all pants that 1. looked decent 2. seemed like they could fit (regardless of size). This pile ended up to her beaus shoulders (he's like 6 feet). Scary?! Not to worry, paring down takes far less time than at a mall, at least for this troll.

One of my favorite things about picking through pants at the thrift store (besides rocking granny panties on top of swimsuit bottoms), is the fact they've already been through the wash a couple times. Which in turn usually means less shrinkage and a better sense of what color they'll be after since they've been around the block a few times.

Apparently the only down side, after filling up carts at a handfull of thrift stores and paring down at said stores, you forget how many pairs of shiny grey suit pants you snag (in my case three). I guess you like what you like right?!

And of since buying pants is far too boring, why not grab a couple pretty shirts to go with them right?! Heck they were the cheapest part- 25 cents here 75 cents there...

AND THEN, it was about time to stop making excuses like "I don't have work out clothes" so a set of Target's leftovers yoga top and capris it was.

Y'all know I couldn't resist that dress. Don't worry the dress is actually folded at the bottom, so it really is longer than it looks.

  1. Great job on finding so many items of clothing for such a low price. You would have spent a fortune had you bought the same items at the mall! Hope your new job is still going well.

  5. I'm jealous of the 25 cent tops! Here they are $3-$5 each at the thrift store, even the Forever 21 tops that I KNOW were that price brand new at the store - so funny how that works! Love the pieces you scored!

    1. Some of our stores have pricier items, but I tend to shy away from those stores. Like you said, big box stores can be so close in price. In that case, just buy new.
