But before we get into this week’s finds + treasures, I wanted to announce another #thriftscorethursday Challenge which we’re thriftily coining: “Have Yourself A Merry Thrifted Christmas.” Same rules (snap a photo, upload to Instagram, and hashtag), we’re just spreading a little Christmas Cheer. We'll show off our favorites on December 18th! Oh and next week I’ll be showing off an entire Christmas scene, in which I cannot WAIT to show you!!
And last thing before we get this thriftscorethursday party on the road, we’ve got Kyla from House of Hipsters, back and ready to show off her gorgeous photography. If you haven’t been over there, you best get ‘yo click on because her projects, styling, and photography are out of control!
If you're new 'round here, Brynne from The Gathered Home, Cassie from Primitive and Proper, and Corinna from For My Love Of, along with our surprise guest poster: Kyla from House of Hipsters, invite you to hang out with us on Instagram. Simply snap a pic of your thrifted treasure and throw the #thriftscorethursday hashtag so we can all marvel at your goodies.
We shall begin with the features:
Jessica from Gourley Girl and a Guy never fails to disappoint (I featured her ginormous metal letter a while back). That tree stand is absolutely gorgeous, so much that she should leave the traditional tree skirt for another year! I'll excuse you while you pick your jaw up from the floor.

Next is this dreamy ice bucket:
I'll be patient as I wait for the thifting gods to bless me with the perfect ice bucket. In the meantime, I WILL drool over every single one any of you post. I did manage to spy one very similar to this beauty at a fancy estate sale of the rich and famous. Alas the bucket was well out of my price range. It may have been made out of pure gold or something.
You have GOT to stop by Laura's blog and check out how she styled this entire wall of bookshelves. She's got the perfect blend of thrifted goodies for all to swoon.
And we'll close this post off with my finds:
If you’ve been following along for a while (back before we started #thriftscorethursday) you may remember this dreamy globe I scored at a yard sale. The thing was huge, and opens up to house a mini-bar. I was able to snag it’s baby brother at the end of the Snap! Conference this past summer. You see another blogger was taking down her display and invited us to take home anything we wanted. Without trying to act a fool, I casually scooped up the mini-globe and expressed how perfect it would be next to my larger scaled version. She may or may not have thought I was nuts. Probably because I skipped all the way back to my room, excited to pack the little baby in my suitcase to unite with his big mama.

The other globe has a little story of his own. We snagged this little guy at our very first storage unit auction (I still owe you guys a post on this, I briefly mention some cool chairs we snagged here). You see a dear friend of ours tipped us off to the auction and invited us to indulge alongside him. There were only two units and he scored the other one. We were both eyeing up a few of each other’s goodies when we were packing up the units, so we decided to switch a few things. We ended up trading him something, to which I can’t remember (most likely something vintage of no interest to us), in exchange for the globe. Gotta love bartering.
Both of these globes just fell in our lap and we couldn’t be happier.
Well that’s all for week 43, my dearies! We thoroughly enjoy scrolling through your entries every week and hope to see your thrifted treasures. It’s pretty easy to play along:
- Snap a photo of something that catches your eye or you
decided to splurge on from anyplace secondhand (Craigslist, Thrift Stores,
Auctions etc).
- Share your photo with the hashtag #thriftscorethursday on Instagram (if your profile is public) and/or Twitter, any day of the week!
Have you found any cool finds lately? Do you have any Christmas goodies you've scored at yardsales/thrift stores/ etc in the past?! Be sure to upload them to Instagram so we can obsess over them! Hope to see ya at our unofficial Have Yourself A Merry Thrifted Christmas challenge!

ReplyDeleteThanks boo! And seriously, these thrifting gods need to throw me an ice bucket soon!!
DeleteI like those globes! I found one on craigslist that was full scale table height that had a bar in it. I wanted to buy it just because it was interesting. I should've. Globes, they're cool.
ReplyDeleteYou should've. It's such a fun piece! When we have guests over, they ALWAYS inquire about it. Instead of stocking it full of booze, we've filled it with board games. Someday we'll stock that thing correctly!
DeleteMmm, those globes are so fantastic and swanky! I'm pretty stinking jealous of your awesome collection!
ReplyDeleteThanks girl!
DeleteDude! Those globes rock! I love them! And you are so sweet to me! Muah! Come down to IKEA so we can hang already. Laura and I live a hop skip and a jump away from the IKEA in Schaumburg! I'm seeing a road trip in your future.
ReplyDeleteOh those globes are such a great find. They look fantastic!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so in love with that Christmas tree stand. And it looks like she has the same rug I do, so I think that's a sign that I'm going to find one any day now ;)
