Oh my God We’re Back Again… channeling my inner teen-aged self for this week’s #thriftscorethursday.  Brynne from The Gathered Home, Megan from Rental Revival and I get our thrift on every week right along side you. So snap a photo and slap a hashtag on it!

First up is this clever ice chest that Morgan and Sean from Charleston Crafted whipped together, from an old sewing machine stand. Makes you want to kick back and pop open a beer…

Be sure to check out how she made it right here.

Then there’s this loveable tea bag holder plate that Vanessa from Tried and True picked up. Although I’m not a tea drinker, I bet it would be perfect for guests!!

And my #thriftscorethursday find this week is a set of these adorable Wooden Pineapple Bowls: #thriftscorethursday Week 20: Wooden Pineapple Bowls | www.blackandwhiteobsession.com

This past winter the MIL retired and decided that she wanted to tackle the World’s Largest Puzzle (no joke, its 24,000 pieces) as her very first leisure activity. She was on the hunt for some cute holders to sort her puzzle pieces. Since she has a soft spot for Hawaii (her and her late hubby splurged as their last vacation), I thought it’d give a slight nod to those happy memories. As fate would have it, I left my wallet at home for that particular trip. When we went back, they were gone. At $0.79 a pop, can you blame them?! The MIL has since used a bunch of Gatorade boxes which work far better.

They still had the original tags from Hawaii on them…

Interestingly enough, I’ve spotted a few more Pineapple Bowls in other thrift stores since and have yet to pick up a set. These hot commodities sell for anywhere from $8-$30 on Etsy (here) in various sizes, conditions and even a few adorable painted ones. Could be a fun resale piece…
Well that’s all for week 20, my dearies! I hope to see you’re secondhand sightings on Instagram/Twitter!! It’s easy:
  1. Snap a photo of something secondhand (Estate Sales, Craigslist, Thrift Stores, Auctions, etc.).
  2. Share said photo with the hashtag #thriftscorethursday on Instagram (if your profile is public) and/or Twitter, any day of the week!
You could be featured next Thursday as your hosts Brynne, Megan and I dish out our favorite scores every week.

Lesson learned: don’t go to the thrift store without your wallet. Have you passed on things only to comeback and they’re gone, gone, gone…?
