Thursday, how you doin?! One more day until the weekend annnd it’s
#thriftscorethursday! My favorite blogging day of the week. This week’s score
is certainly not the prettiest of photos but just wait until you see what kinda
deal I spotted!!
Oh and before we head off to the thrift store treasures ahead, I have two quick updates...
1. Did you catch my very first contributor post on All Things Thrifty on Tuesday?! If not, you'll want to stop over there for some pretty stellar Freebie Ice Cream Wrappers:
2. Interestingly enough, I'm also over at The Happier Homemaker with yet another Freebie for ya in the form of MOVIE NIGHT INVITATIONS so stop by to get your buttery pop-corn lovin' hands on them:
Wowza what a
week!!
And now back to your regularly scheduled program:
Brynne from The Gathered Home and I love thrifting so much that we started
this weekly challenge 22 weeks ago showing off the absolute bargains we’ve
spotted or purchased.
The best part has been thumbing through Instagram every week checking out the drool-worthy pieces you, our dear friends, come across. So forewarned eye candy ahead--} #thriftscorethursday (on Instagram).

Each week we pick our favorites and this week I found my self drooling over:

Can you believe Kim from Vival Vintage For Your Home spotted this this leather chair for only $8.75?! Sure there’s a minor tear on the arm but nothing a strategically placed patch couldn’t fix.

Girl knows
how to rock a staging session! I mean just look at those layers. And that
precious deer on top. Aislinn totally nailed it! Of course you know (my obsession
with glass) those decanters drew me in right away. I have a ton of those in
storage that I simply must re-discover one of these days…
Really makes
me want to bust out the camera, dig out some cute tables, and get my vignette
on.
Again shield
your eyes for the not-so-hot photo skills:

So I almost
missed this bad boy on my way out of my local Salvation Army Resale shop. It
was in the ‘processing’ room, which usually has some type of sign saying “employees
only.” Heck that’s never stopped me from
inquiring before. Anyway, the sign said:
Yes, that’s a decent condition pool table for
$5. Yes it really did measure 8ft by 5ft. I immediately called the beau but he was working (psht, how dare
he). One of the Resale workers noticed my curiosity and said “yeah that thing
has been here forever, they keep marking it down and there haven’t been any
takers.” “Everyone who is interested doesn’t have the proper transportation
since it’s so large.” I told her I was quite interested and that we had
adequate transportation so they may have a lucky new owner.
Later that
evening I tried to convince the beau, by telling him how he could whip up some gorgeous
legs (the dude has mad skills in wood crafting) and how it’d be perfect for our
garage ‘loft’ someday. Ultimately we decided we didn’t have the proper storage
at this time. Rats! #someday #catchandrelease
Well that’s
all for week 21, my dearies! I hope you’ll play along this week! It’s crazy
easy:
- Snap a photo of something that catches your eye or you decided to splurge on from anyplace secondhand (Craigslist, Thrift Stores, Auctions etc).
- Share your photo with the hashtag #thriftscorethursday on Instagram (if your profile is public) and/or Twitter, any day of the week!
You could be
featured next Thursday as your hosts Brynne and I dish out our favorite scores every
week.
Do you find
yourself singing “the one that got away” after leaving a piece behind?

ReplyDeleteTotally crazy!! I sniffle a little just thinking about it!
DeleteGreat finds! Great finds...everything is truly worth drooling over. I am sitting here shocked that you were able to buy a pool table for only $5!
ReplyDeleteWe actually had to pass since we didn't have adequate room but we're keeping our eyes peeled for another some day!!
DeleteWhat? $5 pool table?! I too would have nowhere to put it, but I would be sooo tempted!!!
ReplyDeleteI, too, would have nowhere to put the pool table - but sooooo tempting!! My husband would probably insist and put it on the front porch or something LOL
