Whew, it has been ch-razy over here
ever since getting back from Salt Lake City. It sort of felt like a hangover of
awesome proportions. I hope you were able to follow along virtually as I toured
Salt Lake City’s maga-sized thrift scores on Instagram
last week. Anywho, so who is ready for this week’s #thriftscorethursday?!
If you’re new here, please stick around until the end for more details on how to play along with us!!

Oh my goodness, I’m
entirely jealous of Tanya from Dans le Townhouse find
this week. I’ve been dying to score some Eames Chairs forever, but looking at
the cost online (anywhere from $300 to over $1k) they’re just out of my price
range!! But of course Tanya scooped hers up for just $15 (check out the rest of
the story here)!! Cheah, I’ve spent more on dinner! Ahh, one of these days…
Elena from A Casarella’s vase is so lovely!! The
short and stumpy round shape and the perfectly irregular ceramic holes had me
at hello. It totally looks vintage even though it’s new.
Last but certainly not least, there’s
this mid-century coffee table from _JanieJones_.
The piece totally reminds me of Madmen and lovingly dubbed it ‘Madmen-Chic.’
For this week's #thriftscorethursday find,
I found this:
Heart the photo here.
I actually found this piece about two
months ago before I had found The White Buffalo Styling Co’s- Creating with the
Stars entry. You see she converted
some old rusty jack-stands into copper pendant lights. I’ve been admiring
from afar ever since.
Anywho this geometric wire holder was only $1.50 but since he didn’t have a partner, sadly I had to leave him behind. However, if I would have scooped up a set, I would have converted them into a hanging plant fixture. Can’t you see a tiny spider plant draping over the top in a cute little gold pot?!

Well that’s all for week 15, my
dearies! Please tell me you’ll play along with us?! It’s super easy to play
along my friends:
- Snap a photo of something that catches your eye or you decided to splurge on from anyplace secondhand (Craigslist, Thrift Stores, Auctions etc).
- Share your photo with the hashtag #thriftscorethursday on Instagram (if your profile is public) and/or Twitter, any day of the week!
I’m dying to know, what have you found
at your second hand stores lately?! Would you call that mid-century piece from ‘Madmen
Chic?’
I am dying over Tanya's Eames chair score as well! So very very jealous! That geometric plant hanger is totally awesome - I would have cried for a pair too! I *might* have been able to resist the urge to paint it gold, but, well, you never know ;)
ReplyDeleteOh gold would have been VERY pretty! The ones that get away ha!
DeleteI drooled reading Tanya's post about those chairs! this week I scored a HUGE frame at the habitat restore, just what I needed to balance out a ridiculosly expensive piece of original art I hadddd to have. haha
ReplyDeleteThose chairs... some day I'll find me a set too!!
DeleteI hope you posted that frame, I'd LOVE to see it!!
Thanks for featuring my find!
