11 #thriftscorethursday number one

Hello friends! I'm super excited to announce a new series 'round these parts. We're calling it #thriftscorethursday. Just as the hash describes, we're strutting out to our local thrift stores weekly and scouring the racks for some pretty fantastic pieces, things that we may add to our own homes.

You know, vintage China, furniture stuck in the 90's, unique house hold items, thingamabobs, or even weird finds- that we probably wouldn't try to fit into our lifestyles. Maybe even things that really SHOULDN'T be donated/thrifted?! What ever it is we we're on the prowl!!

This week, I came across this impressive saddle:

I'm pretty sure it wasn't authentic, rather more for decoration. I can totally see it proudly displayed in a charming rustic garage, in an entry way like this, covering stools in a breakfast nook like this, or even a western themed photo shoot like this. I'm kind of kicking myself for passing them up as they could have found a place in our vintage-meets-rustic inspired garage (someday). At $40 it was a pretty good deal!

  1. I love that saddle! I don't think I would have anywhere for it though. I understand why you passed it up... I think it would be difficult to figure a place unless you were specifically saddle-searching!

    1. I hear ya. It was a sad day to pass it up, although I'm sure someone snatched it up and it found a happy home!

  2. That's a cool old saddle! As someone who grew up with horses, it's kind of funny to me to try to see it as a decor piece, but I LOVE that you shared inspiration photos - that rustic stone bar area is pretty darn sweet!
