Wowza, I’ve been hustling for more votes like a real baller for the Goodwill’s Upcycle Challenge. Who knew (a great series by Yahoo! BTW) it would take an army of people? Although someone has 200+ votes already, we are just getting started.   Without further ado here’s my spiel:

If you could pretty please take a quick moment out of your crazy busy day and vote for me, I  would greatly appreciate it!
1. Click here. The contest has now ended, sadly the chairs didn't make the top 25
2. Find my project that looks like this:
3. Click Vote.

Oh and for all of you who have been so loyal and voting daily- here’s the biggest virtual hug I can give you. Thank you for your continued voting!

P.S. hope you don’t hate with the annoying gentle reminders, rather hoping you will see my passion. So tell your friends so they can tell their friends and we can all be friends. 100 points to who names that song.

I thought today would be the perfect day to talk about one of my favorite things- Photography. Now there is no way I claim to be an expert in this area. Sure I took a few photography classes back in high school and worked with some online tutorials but there’s always something to learn. So today, I’ll go over some inspirational work and randomness.

To start, I want to show you these amazing balloons that have peaked my interest since this photo:
Bam hit you with a collage:

Ahh what I would give for the perfect afternoon with a set of balloons. Or even get outside at that. Who knows maybe the beau and I will be my test subjects.

I’ve also been craving to get my creative on and do a session with a baby and their parents aspirations for their child (hopefully encouraging them to be whoever they want).

Or a themed shoot:
Last night I finally got to watch Zero Dark Thirty. I don’t know if I have the right words to say about that movie. Anyway, I still tear up for anything military related so I’d like to share a few images that inspire me to capture such a beautiful moment.

I know containing your emotions is only reserved for just a few.

Let’s wipe away those tears and move to some fun stuff:
The same photographer captured beer and shoes at another wedding:
Bang, bang, pop, pop.
On the topic of weddings, I like this “no peaking before the wedding” shot. This is my new favorite photographer.
I just love the composition in this shot, framing friends with a kiss.
Couldn’t resist this hilarious shot:
Oh to learn how to take shots of puppies…
Moving onto some remarkable perspective shots:

She has a whole series and some tips for the ‘sleeping baby.’
A friend of mine asked me about a week ago “I’ve been thinking about upgrading my current camera to improve photos on my website, what do you recommend under $500 with a lens and decent flash.” I proceeded him that I recommended my camera, which is the Canon Rebel t1i (can’t wait to upgrade to a ‘real’ camera someday). A ‘noob’ camera if you will. Since it’s a few models old by now I’m sure it’s cheap.

And that he should pair the learning curve with this tutorial:
Last but not least in this post of random photo goods- a backdrop. Lately it has been hard to resist the urge to build one of these backdrops:

Who knows maybe the boyfriend has something up his sleeve for my birtday. #3 really plays off The New Girl set. This site probably has the best tutorial yet.

If I could only capture a part of what these amazing photographers do I'd be in heaven.

What inspires you? Are you itching to get outside? Have the DIY bug? Are you in love with "The New Girl."
