0 Beat the Cancer: Benefit

My sister and her sister-in-law (weird sentence?) have been working their tushes off organizing a benefit for their mother/in-law who was recently diagnosed with Stage 3 Lung Cancer. She kindly asked me if I wanted to contribute a donation, item for auction, and/or help with any part of it. I am an avid supporter of anything for a good cause so it was a no-brainer. After going through some business plans, I decided on two photo session for silent auction:

So for those of you local, please feel free to stop out and eat a brat, jam to music, bid on some amazing raffle items, and/or drink some beer for a good cause (links below).

Here’s a photo I took for my sister for a Christmas present this year:

Story time: After she was diagnosed with cancer and started radiation, my sister quietly explained to her daughter that her grandma may be different from now on. The next time my niece saw her, she innocently asked her grandmother to take off her hat. Her grandmother was a bit hesitant and my niece immediately says “Don’t worry Grandma, you’re still beautiful.” My sister then proceeded to request a mini photo shoot from me so she could forever capture the moment on a blanket as their Christmas Gift:

My heart melted when I heard that. She has a big heart and is raising her children with hearts of Gold.

Needless to say, this will be the last post of the week, to focus on the benefit.  I added the following pages About and No Regrets List and updated Purchasing a Home Part 1 post with pictures of homes we considered to hold you over during my absence.

And now for the details:

Next week it’s on like Donkey Kong for house themed posts. Hope you’re ready!
